Lash Aftercare FAQs

How do I care for my lashes after my appointment?

  • Avoid getting your lashes wet for 24 hours after your appointment to allow the adhesive to set properly.
  • Refrain from using oil-based makeup removers, cleansers, or skincare products around your lashes. Oil can weaken the adhesive bond.
  • Be gentle when cleansing your face—avoid rubbing or tugging at your lashes.

Can I wear mascara with lash extensions?

We recommend avoiding mascara, especially waterproof formulas, as they can break down the adhesive and cause your extensions to fall out prematurely. With lash extensions, your lashes should already appear full and defined!

How do I clean my lash extensions?

Use a lash-safe cleanser (oil-free and gentle) and a soft brush or applicator to clean your lashes daily. This helps prevent dirt, oil buildup, and bacteria while maintaining the health of your natural lashes.

How can I make my lash extensions last longer?

  • Avoid sleeping on your face or side, as excessive friction can cause lashes to shed prematurely. Try sleeping on your back or using a silk pillowcase to minimize friction.
  • Refrain from touching, pulling, or twisting your extensions. This can damage both the extensions and your natural lashes.
  • Schedule regular fills every 2–3 weeks to maintain fullness and prolong the life of your lashes.

Can I swim, shower, or exercise with lash extensions?

Yes, but wait 24 hours after your appointment before exposing your lashes to water, steam, or sweat. After the adhesive has fully cured, lash extensions are waterproof and safe for swimming, showering, and working out. Always pat your lashes dry afterward instead of rubbing them.

What should I avoid after my appointment?

  • Avoid oil-based products near your eyes.
  • Steer clear of steam rooms, saunas, or hot yoga for the first 24 hours.
  • Do not use mechanical eyelash curlers—they can damage both the extensions and your natural lashes.

How do I prevent tangling or crisscrossed lashes?

Brush your lash extensions gently with a clean spoolie brush each morning to keep them aligned and fluffy. Always brush from the middle of the lash to the tips, avoiding the base.

What if my natural lashes feel weak or sparse?

Extensions shouldn’t damage your natural lashes if cared for properly. To strengthen your lashes, consider using a lash serum to promote healthy growth.

Can I remove lash extensions myself?

No, we recommend scheduling a professional removal. Trying to remove them on your own can damage your natural lashes and irritate your eyes.

Do I need to avoid makeup around my lash extensions?

Yes, avoid using eyeliner pencils and other heavy makeup around your lash line. If you use eyeliner, choose a lash-extension-safe, oil-free formula and apply sparingly.

How often should I schedule fills?

To maintain a full and even lash look, schedule your fills every 2–3 weeks. Waiting longer may require a full set if too many extensions have shed.

Is it normal for some lashes to fall out?

Yes, it’s normal to lose a few lash extensions daily as part of your natural lash cycle. If you experience excessive shedding, contact us for advice or to schedule a touch-up.
